yay for deciembre

so its december and christmas is less than 20 days away. im a little excited :) yesterday mom put up the christmas tree (something i absolutely hate doing). here are some fabulous pictures of me by ittttt:

im IN LOVE with these shoes. i steal them from my mommy every chance i can get. no matter what i wear i feel like they make the outfit a little......hotter ;) hahaha and surprisingly they arent that uncomfortable. perfect when you want to look dressy but not have to wear 6 inch heels.

christmas break is in a few weeks.....hopefully i will have a lot of time to post for you guys.

tighty whiteys among other things

So I've been "vigorously" doing homework all day. As in I was doing homework while on facebook. But I finally finished my history paper, and I figured I deserved to spend some time blogging. So I finally uploaded pix from halloween.........of me as captain underpants:



Tres chic, no? I'd say I rocked them, but that's just me.

I also said last week that I made numerous purchases and was unable to get any good shots. Well lucky for me the pictures turned out good when the clothes were actually on me. Here's my Target skirt that I am now very fond of:



I paired it with a Volcom shirt, Behnaz Sarafpour for Target sweater, Sigerson Morrison for Target flats, and a Hollywood intuition belt bag (or fanny pack, take your pick). I was a little reluctant for the fanny pack, b/c I hadn't tried it yet with anything. I've also been scarred for life by my parents' usage of the 1980's-1990's fashion faux paux (spelling?). Surprisingly though, it didn't look too out of place. These flats are also favorite accessory of mine. They always make a boring outfit a little more exciting. I mean, how often do you see shiny teal flats with jewels? Really?

All I Want Is To Shop

There's nothing like the therapy I get from a day trip to my favorite mall. After an arduous week of quarterly exams, my mom and I ventured to one of my favorite shopping spots on Friday since I had no escuela.

I will not lie: I had been saving my money for this much anticipated trip and I had reached about $80 or $90. Unfortunately, only two days later I remain with $13 and a small amount of change. EXCEPT........I made some amazing purchases to show for my drastic drop in cash (and mommy spent some money on me too). They included:

• elastic waist purple plaid skirt from Target (it was on sale for $11 but the girl only charged me $7: my day started off really well)
• top and dress from Anna Sui collaboration with Target
• Haviannas sandals (slightly gray with strap on the heel: a step up from your average flip flops)
• two pairs of shorts from Anthropologie (sailor and paperbag waist)
• cropped plaid pleated trousers from Anthropologie
• one teal pair of morgan style pants from delias
• one purple pair of morgan style corduroy (spelling?) pants from delias

and I believe that's it. I attempted pictures of my findings but they sucked and it's late so I'm not putting any up. Sorry. Oh, and I discovered a description of myself thanks to the Target commercials I keep seeing: FRUGALISTA. Finally I am classified.

Bad Mommy

If the blog world had child services, they would most likely be reprimanding me right now. This precious blog-baby of mine has not gotten much attention for the past month. But that's what 3 AP and 2 Honors does to you. GREAT.

Well, two out of my past three weekends have sucked. Teaching project for one, 4-5 page essay for another. But in between, for Labor Day, la familia y yo made a trip down to Key West (for me it was the first time). Let me tell you, it was so nice to get away from everything, especially school (although I did bring 3 text books with me, but that's besides the point).

The drive down was beautiful, and so was watching the sunset both nights. Our room wasn't too shabby either. Here's some pictures from the trip, including some of my outfits..........

My mom and I kinda had a thing for this car. It was seriously only like two feet wide.

My mom gave me this jumper from the Gap. I wanted to wear it, but didn't know how to not look like a little kid/frumpy. The belt cinched at the waist seemed to do the trick.

All Dressed Up With Nowhere To Go.....

Last week of summer and what am I doing? Throwing clothes together. A little pathetic but who knows when I'll have time to do that once...............SCHOOL starts. Bleh.

Can you sense the enthusiasm?

Well I never thought of pairing zipper jeans with heels, but it was a surprisingly good match. At least I have an outfit all planned out for my next party :)

I'm also excited to say that my hair is finally long enough to experiment! After blow drying I put in mousse to give it some wave.

The shorts were originally cuffed, but I found I liked them better uncuffed. Not as "super-skank-esque".

One picture is with a small key necklace, and the other is with some longer layers of necklaces. I personally like the longer necklaces better, but that's just me.

That tank top now has tye dye spots all over it, which reminds me that I need to buy a new one.

If you haven't noticed, I'm OBSESSED with these sandals. I got them at Target for maybe like $20, and I wear them with everything. I also have them in white, but the black patent ones are my favorite.

I will admit. I am a thrifty shopper. If something can be cheap and chic, why pay more?





That's why I go straight to the sale section whenever I go into overpriced stores like american eagle or hollister or a&f. They always seem to have good deals. And yes, I do shop at mass retailer stores like that.





The only place I don't do that is at Target (pronounced tar-gey, for a fancified effect), because their stuff is already so effin cheap it's totally worth full price.





Some other cheap favs? TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I think I've been to about every one of them within a 50 mile radius of my house. Yes, the stuff may be last season. Yes, they occasionally have nauseating tacky clothes. No, they aren't always classy or fabulous. But they save me money. And that is my shopping mantra.
